Tues. 9/23: (60min) Start discussing Lipids – make butter, construct a paper triglyceride.
Wed. 9/24: (30/40min) Reflect on yesterday’s lab. Paper bag test, Sudan IV test of foods. HW: read about lipids and carbohydrates in your book pg 45-47. Highlight vocabulary words – look in the picture captions, too. Add to your notes where needed.
Thurs. 9/25: (100 min) . Demo of monomers and polymers. Carbohydrates – dehydration synthesis reaction, make a paper starch molecule, taste glucose/sucrose/starch/lactose/lactaid milk, do lab tests with Iodine and Benedict’s.
Fri. 9/26: (40min) Put Organic Molecules Chart into notebook -fill in Lipid section together. Nucleic Acids – make a paper model.HW: fill in Carbohydrate and Nucleic Acids section of Organic Molecules Chart.
