Weekly participation grading rubric – this is what I will be grading during class this week.  For the first grading period, you will all start with 5 points.

Mon. 8/18: (30/40 min) Have all supplies with you in class.  Scroll down this page to last week’s assignments for a list.  Discuss variables and hypotheses (worksheet to follow along with can be found under Assignments).  I will collect notebooks at the end of the period.  HW:  Quiz over taxonomy and scientific method on Thursday.

Tues. 8/19: (100 min) Yeast Metabolism Lab.

Wed. 8/20: (40 min) Work in class on the graphs for the Yeast Lab. Discuss the 8 characteristics of life and graphing skills. HW:  study for quiz.  There are practice problems under the Review tab above.

Thurs. 8/21: (40/30 min) Quiz – Taxonomy and Scientific Method. Start working in class on the Graphing Skills worksheet. HW:  finish the Graphing Skills worksheet for tomorrow.

Fri. 8/22: (45 min) Metric system “stairstep” model (converting within the metric system) and using proper metric units.  HW:  study for Chapter 1 test, notebooks collected Tuesday. We will review on Monday.
